“Connecting the dots between two French traditions–from Louisiana to Quebec on fiddle and in song”
http://claudemethe.com/latoqc/
LATOQC – short for Louisiana to Québec – is a unique traditional music concert featuring veteran, award-winning fiddlers David Greely (Cajun traditions, Breaux Bridge, LA) and Claude Méthé (French-Canadian traditions, Sainte-Béatrix, QC). They are accompanied by guitarist-singer-foot percussionist Dana Whittle, a transplant from New England who has lived in Québec for more than 20 years, performing in numerous trad bands. The trio first got together informally during a couple of shows and had so much fun that they decided to put together a cross-cultural tour, driving from south to north. During the show, audiences will learn about the history of traditional music in Louisiana and in Québec, and hear the differences – and connections – between the tunes and songs from these two vibrant, living cultures. Old and new tunes and songs, lively fiddling, intriguing tales and exuberant foot percussion all make for a delicious, energetic buffet of North American French culture!
